Chapel of the Transfiguration

This little chapel, located in Teton National Park, is one of the most stunningly beautiful churches I've ever seen (and I've seen some amazing old churches...Notre Dame Cathedral being one). There are several elements that contribute to it's beauty: it's location against the backdrop of the Tetons; it's rugged log architecture; it's simplicity. Built in 1925, the chapel still still offers Sunday services. I desperately wanted to sit awhile and contemplate as I stared through the window at the Tetons but there were too many people. :(
