Man & Girl

On my way into the office this morning, I had a thought. Why is it BatMAN and SuperMAN but BatGIRL and SuperGIRL? I mean, if it's MAN shouldn't it be WOMAN? Or, should it be BatBOY and SuperBOY?

Also, I'm eating leftover birthday cake for breakfast. It's yummy.
