Catching Up

(Luke, Alex and I at Bridal Veil Falls)

It's been an entire week since I blogged? What the heck??? Here's the 411 on the happenings in LindsyLand:

  • Had a follow-up appointment at my PCP and was put on blood pressure medicine and forced into a sling. I've ditched the sling five out of the seven days I've supposed to have been wearing it. And stopped the meds after taking my blood pressure several times and ending up with a reading of 101/77. Not normal. I have another follow-up tomorrow and an EKG and MRI scheduled for Friday. Think I might insist on a referral to a specialist for my shoulder and get a second opinion on the blood pressure.
  • Spent an AMAZING four days in Utah with the Turner family. It was wonderful catching up with Nikki and getting to really know her little family. Her children are absolutely adorable and so well-behaved...and humorous. I laughed so much! We went shopping in Park City, to see the witches at Gardner Village, dinner with an old friend from high school and Frightmares at Lagoon. The weather was fantastic and I loved seeing everything decked out for Halloween. Love ya, Nikki!!!

  • I cancelled my trip to San Diego since my mom and dad are coming into town this weekend. It will be their first time seeing the new place and I'm very excited. Even more so since we no longer have to share a bathroom. :) This weekend is also my mom's birthday so I'm baking her a cake and taking her to get a pedicure with cool Halloween nail art.

  • I continue to be amazed at the resiliency of the human spirit and the profound comfort and healing true friends can bring. I'm lucky to have several wonderful friends, both near and far, who comfort me without even knowing it.

  • Plans have been confirmed and I will be spending Halloween with a group of friends at a cabin in the woods. Pumpkin bread, ghost stories, camp fires. It's going to be divine.

  • My rental car on vacation this past weekend was a Chevy HHR and I loved that little car. I'm seriously considering trading in the Beetle for one.

  • My mother gave me (and is bringing down) my grandmother's antique wing back chair, which I am going to recover similar to the this chair that I lust after.

Other than (all) that, things are just moving merrily along. I'm so in love with this time of year. The turning of the seasons, the need for warmer clothes, pumpkin everything, Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner. It's magical.
