Is Labor Day too early...

Spent Saturday night in Glendale. Went to dinner at Margaritaville and had every intention of exploring the rest of Westgate but just didn't make it. Margaritaville was too much fun. Cool atmosphere, awesome people watching, great cover band.
I got this cool DVD as a birthday gift...can't wait to go home and watch it. Tempted to pop into into the DVD drive at work and pretend to work while I watch, but that would be wrong. Right? (By the way, The Chick Flick is an all-female wakeboarding doc.)
(Note: Izzie is the name of my iPod.)
Even though my birthday isn't until next week, my crazy crew of friends decided to surprise me on Saturday night with a birthday dinner. This is how it all went down: Kirst and I decided to go see X Files Saturday night. She suggested we go to dinner first and then asked where I would like to eat. I chose Texas Roadhouse because I had never been there and it looked like my kind of place.
First, let me say tomorrow will be a fun day on the ole' blog as I share with you photos of the complete and utter embarrassment bestowed upon me this past week by my "friends"- and I use that term loosely.
I ensconced myself in my apartment Saturday to finish the fourth and final book of the Twilight series (I hate that the publisher is using the word "saga"). It was okay but not what I had expected. The first book in the series wove such a magic spell that I was sure the author couldn't keep it up for three more books. New Moon wasn't bad and Eclipse was just okay, but I was a bit disappointed in Breaking Dawn. However, unlike the hordes of fans and critics out there who are ripping this novel apart, I did enjoy it. It's just a book, people. Get over it.
One thing I love about going to Wyoming every summer is eating a Bubba's. Some might consider this anticlimatic and bit obssessive, but I live for my yearly dinner at Bubba's. I love the straw on the floor. I love drinking out of mason jars. Heck, I even love getting the BBQ sauce ALL OVER THE PLACE. It just don't get better than Bubba's.
This little chapel, located in Teton National Park, is one of the most stunningly beautiful churches I've ever seen (and I've seen some amazing old churches...Notre Dame Cathedral being one). There are several elements that contribute to it's beauty: it's location against the backdrop of the Tetons; it's rugged log architecture; it's simplicity. Built in 1925, the chapel still still offers Sunday services. I desperately wanted to sit awhile and contemplate as I stared through the window at the Tetons but there were too many people. :(
